ST. LOUIS, June 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Post Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:POST), a consumer packaged goods holding company, today announced its Board of Directors has approved an additional $250 million share repurchase authorization. Any repurchases under this additional authorization would occur over a two year period beginning on June 6, 2017. This authorization is in addition to the previous authorization, which was approved on February 2, 2016 for up to $300 million of share repurchases over two years. There was approximately $48 million remaining as of May 31, 2017 under the previous authorization.
Repurchases may be made from time to time in the open market, private purchases, through forward, derivative, accelerated repurchase or automatic purchase transactions, or otherwise. The shares would be purchased with cash on hand and cash from operations. Any shares repurchased would be held as treasury stock. The authorization does not, however, obligate Post to acquire any particular amount of shares, and repurchases may be suspended or terminated at any time at Post’s discretion.
